Coalville's Changing - Flags over Coalville

Flags over Coalville

Banners on Ashby Road

Banners have been installed on lamp posts around Coalville town centre during May 2010. Local school children and representatives of local groups have helped to design the banners, which are being funded through Leicestershire County Council and the Coalville Town Centre Partnership.

The banners are split into 4 categories, which include:

Gateway banners

Gateway banners are located on the main roads into the town centre, which highlight local organisations. These banners will appear along Whitwick Road, London Road, Ashby Road and Mantle Lane.

Events banners

Events banners are positioned around Memorial Square, and will highlight the events planned for Coalville during the rest of 2010/11.

History banners

History banners are located around Marlborough Square. Messages for these banners have been prepared in partnership with the Coalville Heritage Society, and they provide an insight to Coalville's rich past, from its mining origins all the way through to manufacturing of Action Man toys in the 1980s.

Love Coalville banners

Love Coalville banners are positioned along the inner streets of Coalville - Hotel Street, High Street, Belvoir Road, Ashby Road and Jackson Street. These banners feature quotes from local school children, members of the public and local business and enterprise leaders which show why they love Coalville.
